Our little girl will be at full term on April 15th. Since my wife has diabetes they will probably induce labor the first week of April. My baby will be born between April 2nd and April 6th. In a few weeks we will have a 3d ultrasound done and will get to see just how beautiful our baby is.
current mood: happy

1:42 pm - Routine tests...
|
|
A week ago my wife had some blood work done. The results showed that she one of her hormones was low. Yesterday she went in for a routine ultrasound to check for blockages and such. No problems were found but the ultrasound did find somebody. The ultrasound tech consulted with the nurse practitioner and the doctor and then informed us that what we were seeing was a 5 week gestational sac. MY WIFE IS PREGNANT!!!!1!11

Hurricane on the way. I live in Silsbee, TX, about 60 miles north-northwest of the predicted landing point of High Island, TX. They are saying we will have 100+ MPH winds here. The eye will probably pass 20 miles west of here. I will be evacuating Friday morning to northern Louisiana where my sister-in-law lives. I am a member of the Volunteer Fire Department here and will likely be heading back to Silsbee as soon as the worst has passed to help clear the roads of fallen trees. I spent about half of the day helping evacuate the three nursing homes in Silsbee.

10:25 pm - Long time no update...
|
Well lets see... Since my last post I have become reemployed by C&D Robotics. At the end of July I am travelling to Scotland and Southern England to work on robots, a week at each place. My Wife is going to Scotland with me. There will be lots of pictures and I hope my hotel has broadband so I can keep this Journal updated for anyone that cares to see all that old stuff.

I have some fairly regular contract work lined up. I am repairing computers. Ninety percent of my work is chasing viruses and killing spyware. I'm getting paid to run Spybot, AdAware, and Norton.

8:38 pm - CD printer
|
Today got the ok to buy a CD label printer for my church. The one I am most interested in is the Casio CW-75. It uses a thermal ribbon istead of liquid inks so the label shouldn't smudge. It has a keyboard built in, can operate independent of a computer and runs off of AA batteries. Overall the best solution and it's only $79.99 after rebate from jr.com.

9:13 pm - Today I...
|
Today I heped someone at church copy a tape to CD for distributiion to a few other churches. We have a Hispanic ministry and will have a guest speaker and the CD is to introduce the Hispanic ministries of the other churches to the speaker and to invite them to attend. The Hispanic ministry is just one growth area in our church.

My wife is home from work. She works for the US Postal Service in Remote Encoding Center. She types in the address that the computers can't read.

Tonight we were introduced to a song our Keyboard player wrote. It's cool and I might record it when we perform it and put the file on my webserver.

9:27 pm - still alive...
|
Good evening... I'm still alive after dropping off the face of the internet for a while.
I am currently unemployed and seeking employment. Several resumes are trying to find their way to an HR manager's desk for a few local companies. The prospect that I am praying for is for a company five miles away from home called Louisianna Pacific. They are hiring a PLC programmer and the posted requirements are are contridictory and extreme. The hiring center I was directed to would not even take an application since I do not meet the "minimum" requirements. I went around the hiring center and spoke to the Electrical Lead at the plant. He requested a resume and I am waiting for a callback. If nothing turns up soon I will probably repair and build computers.

11:52 pm - Home for a short time...
|
|
I arrived home this past friday from Buford, GA. I am returning tomorrow. This trip will be more enjoyable as Rebekka is traveling with me. The current plan is to be completely finished with the robot by friday. Rebekka gets a paid vacation out of the deal and I get a working vacation. We are taking our digital camera and will try to upload pictures from the trip. Watch this space for more...
